Warner is a suburb of Pine Rivers Shire council located 22 kilometres north of the Brisbane central business district. Prior to the year 2000, Warner mainly consisted of large acreage properties and potato farms. Post year 2000, Warner had a huge increase in population due to the subdivisioning of land previously used for potato farming and migrant families from interstate. In 2002 a commercial town centre was built to cater for the huge influx in population growth within the suburb. As of 2005 the population of Warner is just under 5000 inhabitants. In April 2006 a road which connects Warner to the nearby suburbs of Brendale and Albany Creek was completed which connected Old North Road in Warner to South Pine Road, Brendale, two months after the original proposed opening date. This provides inhabitants of Warner a direct route towards the Brisbane CBD alleviates traffic congestion in the area during peak hour traffic. The area was originally known as Harrisons Pocket before the area was split in half, with one half named Warner and the other half towards the north named Joyner. The origin of the name Warner is from an early civilian serveyor by the name of John Warner.
